Largest Blue Diamond In The World to Lead Christie’s Auction
The biggest flawless blue diamond in the world, weighing 13.22 carats, is to be the highlight of Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva on May 14.
The blue gem has a pre-sale estimate in the range of $21 million-$25 million and is the top item of the 240 lot sale, which th auctioneer forecasts will raise about $80 million.
The auction will also see many other top items come under the block, including the 5.5-carat Ocean Dream, the largest fancy vivid blue-green diamond in the world to sell at auction, with an estimated sale price of $7.5 million.
Then there is the 76.51-carat light pink cut-corned square-cut diamond, set as a necklace centerpiece by the Lev Leviev company, which carries a pre-sale estimate of $7 million to $10 million. Meanwhile, a pear-shaped D-color flawless diamond weighing 75.97 carats is estimated to sell form $13.5 million-$15.5 million.
Other highlights include The Rajah diamond, an old-mine brilliant-cut diamond of 26.14 carats (estimate: $3 million-$5 million) and a JAR ring featuring three regular-cut diamonds estimated at $330,000-$460,000.
