Reed Exhibitions has announced the appointment of Lauren Thompson as Group Marketing Director of JCK Las Vegas, Luxury and JCK Tucson shows, part of the Reed Jewelry Group. Thompson will oversee the integrated marketing strategy for the shows and work closely with the programming, sales and executive teams to support show development and enhanced communications.
Thompson spent the past decade at Jewelers of America (JA), a leading jewelry industry trade association that represents businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace. There, she developed and executed marketing communications strategies and digital development for JA and its partner brands, National Jeweler magazine and DCA.
“At JCK Events, maintaining strong relationships with our attendees and exhibitors is a top priority, and Lauren’s existing industry connections and experience further supports our efforts to engage with our community and address the needs of our industry as a whole,” states Group Vice President of JCK and Luxury, Sarin Bachmann. “We are thrilled to welcome such an experienced and creative marketer to the JCK Events management team.”
At JA, Thompson focused on increasing consumer confidence, and retail and supplier member engagement, holding positions in public affairs, communications, marketing and digital development. During her tenure, Thompson worked on pillar industry events, including the annual GEM Awards and the launch of the JA National Convention in 2019. Thompson began her career covering jewelry and entertainment design at B2B magazines Basel Magazine and then Live Design.
Additionally, she is actively involved with the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA), currently acting as Vice President of Chapter Affairs for the executive WJA International Board.
“I am looking forward to taking on this multifaceted marketing role and joining a team that offers such innovative opportunities for the jewelry industry to connect and grow. The JCK community is unlike any other in our industry, and I can’t wait to engage with them and continue to cultivate relationships within the industry,” says Lauren Thompson.
