U.S. Holiday Online Spending to Increase 14%, Says comScore

Analytics company comScore predicts a 14-percent increase on last year in November-December 2015 holiday season spending. Total online retail spending is seen reaching $70.1 billion.

Mobile commerce is forecast to be $11.7 billion of retail spending, or 17 percent of total digital commerce and increasing at a rate of 47 percent from the last holiday season. Meanwhile, spending via desktop computers is expected to reach $58.3 billion, up 9 percent year-over-year.

Overall, digital commerce is expected to account for about 15 percent of consumers’ discretionary spending.
