The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) will work to bring a delegation of diamond buyers to the August 26-29 US/International Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE).
If it happens, it would be the first time that buyers from a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel have visited the diamond exchange.
IDE President Yair Sahar and DDE Chairman Peter Meeus agreed that Meeus would work to bring diamond buyers from Dubai to take part in the event.
The diamond bourse leaders agreed on the idea at the 9th Annual Meeting of the World Diamond Council held in Tel Aviv at the start of May.
"The US/International Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange is open to buyers from all over the world, including diamantaires from Dubai," Sahar told Meeus.
The IDE is staging a second edition of the buyer's week after the success of the first US/International Diamond Week in March.
