UBM India is starting a new trade show, called the Kolkata Jewellery & Gem Fair, a three-day B2B jewelry event.
UBM says the show to be held in January 11-13 is the first international B2B jewelry exhibition in East India, and will serve domestic and international exhibitors.
India’s diamond industry is mostly concentrated in the west of the country, in Mumbai and Surat
Organizers forecast more than 160 exhibitors of plain and studded gold jewelry, loose diamonds, and modern and traditional jewelry designs will take part. In addition, more than 6,000 buyers are expected to visit the fair.
The inaugural show will feature ‘The Golden Hand Award’ by UBM India, with a judging panel of industry experts picking a winning jewelry craftsman.
