More than 150 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from Israel and abroad are taking part in Israel’s tenth international jewelry and diamond exhibition – Jovella.

Exhibitors at the two-day show, which ends today, displayed diamonds, gold jewelry, jewelry set with diamonds or precious stones, silver jewelry and fashion jewelry, and other goods and services.

Registration has opened for the Israel Diamond Exchange's second diamond buying event, being held August 26-29.

The event is a joint project of the Israeli and New York diamond exchanges, developed by their respective presidents, Yair Sahar and Reuven Kaufman.

The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) will work to bring a delegation of diamond buyers to the August 26-29 US/International Diamond Week at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE).

If it happens, it would be the first time that buyers from a country that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel have visited the diamond exchange.

Belgian diamond firms participated in networking program at the May 10-13 Jewelry Shanghai 2013 trade show.

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) held three networking events to build up Belgian firms'' relationships with Chinese companies. The initiative was launched together with HRD Antwerp, the Belgian Consulate-General in Shanghai, the Shanghai Diamond Exchange and the Gem and Jewelry Association of China.

The organizing committee of the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair (ADTF) said that the Fifth Edition of the show will be held from January 26 to 28, 2014 in Antwerp.

Leading British jeweler Laurence Graff visited the US/International Diamond Week where he was given a tour by IDE President Yair Sahar and Diamond Dealers Club of New York President Reuven Kaufman.

"The Diamond Week is very impressive, Graff says. "When was the trading hall this busy? It is a tremendous idea. Really excellent." He declined to comment on whether he planned to buy any diamonds.

The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) is leading the international diamond business sector's marketing efforts at a time when it needs to make tremendous efforts to return to profitability and strong growth, IDE President Yair Sahar said in a message to 150 diamond buyers who will be taking part in the US / International Diamond Week.

The event will be held March 17-20 at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) in Ramat Gan.

The March 5-9 Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is seeing vibrant foot traffic and firm demand for many categories of polished diamonds. ‎

Although there is a lot of shopping around for goods as always happens at the show, business was also reportedly strong, said one Israeli diamanatire.
